One standout example of this is Stephanie Santana, one of our first employees, whose journey from healthcare to clean energy highlights both her personal passions and the dynamic growth culture at GSPP.

 

From Healthcare to Renewable Energy

Stephanie began her professional journey in a very different field: working as a Certified Medical Assistant for a podiatric surgeon, where she assisted in surgical procedures and delivered compassionate post-operative care. While her path into the clean energy industry was unconventional, her curiosity and drive for learning quickly set the stage for what would become an inspiring career at GSPP.

 

“I started at GSPP in 2015 with little to no knowledge of solar,” Stephanie recalls. “But as I learned more, I became fascinated with every aspect of solar development.”

 

A Career Defined by Versatility and Growth

Stephanie’s growth within GSPP is a testament to the company’s commitment to nurturing talent from within. When she joined the company, GSPP was a new company, with a small team, focused on residential solar.  As one of the company’s first employees, Stephanie jumped in and quickly immersed herself in multiple areas of the business, including interconnection, permitting, and engineering. Her dedication and adaptability didn’t go unnoticed. Within three years, she rose to Vice President of Operations, helping to drive the company’s transition from residential to commercial solar projects alongside the company’s founders.

 

“Stephanie embodies the spirit of GS Power Partners: adaptable, dedicated, and deeply committed to our company,” explained GSPP CEO Jason Kuflik. “Her journey from operations to HR reflects not only her personal growth but also the kind of opportunity and trust we strive to offer our team. She’s played a vital role in shaping our culture and driving our success, and we’re incredibly fortunate to have her as part of the GSPP family.”

 

As the company grew and evolved, Stephanie continued to support the GSPP team, stepping into a leadership role in talent acquisition. In her current role, she helps shape the future of GSPP by leading recruitment efforts and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for all new hires.

 

Building Culture and Looking Ahead

“What I love most is heading up the recruiting process,” Stephanie says. “Each new hire reminds me of how far we’ve come, and keeps me excited about where we’re headed.”

 

She also takes pride in contributing to the company’s operational structure. “Every day we become a little more efficient, and that sets us up for long-term growth and productivity.”

 

Stephanie describes GSPP’s culture as fast-paced, collaborative, and open to new ideas. “Management has always welcomed input on strategies and processes. That trust and openness have been key to our success.”
